Owned and operated by Ms. Margaret Kelly, the hotel has 20 rooms and a fully-licensed
restaurant. In 1997 Ms. Kelly was joined in the business by her son John. After
completing his Bachelor of Commerce degree from Memorial University, John, who
has worked at odd jobs in the business since he was around twelve, began working
full-time, assuming a range of duties from cooking to varied business-related
tasks. The hotel has 14 full-time employees and employs up to 20 during the summer months. The hotel caters to dinner parties, birthdays, anniversaries and Christmas parties. Known for its home-styled cooking, the restaurant is open daily from 7:00 AM to 10:00 PM, providing everything from quick lunches to fine dining. The specialty of the house is seafood.
For her many years as a successful business person, Ms. Kelly was recognized by the Newfoundland and Labrador Organization of Women Entrepreneurs as Entrepreneur of the Year for the Eastern Region for 2004.
